Share Your Story

Sharing personal stories from LGBT and allied Wisconsinites is a critical component to advancing LGBT equality.  These stories allow us to educate the general public and legislators about the need to protect LGBT Wisconsinites, as well as shed light on the harms of LGBT discrimination.

Fair Wisconsin uses these stories in a variety of ways. In the past, stories have been featured on our blog, shared with legislators across the state and cited in articles written by Wisconsin publications and news outlets.

Check out this video of David Kopitzke’s testimony at the Joint Finance Committee budget hearing in Sparta, WI on March 23, 2009 in which he talks about his support for domestic partnerships in the state budget and how they would affect he and Paul, his partner of 40 years.

If you have a story like David’s or another story that highlights the need to proactively advance LGBT equality in Wisconsin, please share it with us.  We need stories, people, couples, families, etc. to continue taking important steps toward full equality.  Please call us at 608.441.0143 or email us at info@fairwisconsin.com - please indicate “this is my story” in the subject of your email.
