Find out if your county is issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples

Counties Issuing Marriage Licenses

Following Judge Crabb’s ruling in Wolf v. Walker striking down Wisconsin’s ban on marriage equality, most county clerks have begun issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.  We’ve compiled a list of the counties in which you can obtain a marriage license, including which clerks will allow you to obtain a waiting period waiver.

PLEASE NOTE: This list is a work in progress and information may become quickly out of date. This list consists of a combination of reports provided to us by county clerks and couples around the state, as well as media sources.  If you have any questions about the status of your county, we recommend you call the clerk’s office to verify whether they are issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples or not.
