It’s always the right time to start building a Fair Wisconsin!  Whether you are in middle or high school, college or an LGBT youth, below are fantastic resources to find support networks and learn more about how to get involved in building LGBT equality.

Youth

Gay Straight Alliance for Safe Schools (GSAFE) A statewide public benefit organization committed to safe middle schools and high schools for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender youths and all students.  Find out how you can get involved with—or start—your school’s GSA, and help make a safe environment for students at your school!

OutThere OutThere is an LGBTQA group for young adults ages 18-24 based in Madison. Our goal is to create a safe space/group for younger LGBTA people to meet one another, socialize, gain support, and to provide resources to the community.

GALAXY A group for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning youth ages 14 to 19 in the La Crosse area who want to hang out with other LGBTQ teens and discuss issues relevant to LGBTQ teens.

Gay Youth Milwaukee A support and social group primarily for Milwaukee area gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth in high school that provides a safe place for them to meet and discuss their issues and concerns.

Proud Theater A youth theater program designed to foster self-expression and self-empowerment for Madison-area youth.  It is open to any youth who identify as gay, lesbian,  bisexual,  transgender,  or queer/questioning (LGBTQ), or who are the sons or daughters of LGBTQ parents, or allies of the LGBTQ community at large.

Teens Like Us A program for LGBTQ and gay-friendly youth offered by Youth Services of Southern Wisconsin; based in Madison.

College and University Students

Looking for ways to get involved and LGBT groups on your campus? Fair Wisconsin is always looking for enthusiastic college students to get involved with Students for a Fair Wisconsin.  Whether it’s putting together campus-wide campaigns to elect pro-fairness candidates, guest speakers, fun events or LGBT advocacy directly affecting your campus, we have a use for your talents and energy!  Contact your campus’s Students for a Fair Wisconsin Chair today.

St. Norbert College

St. Norbert College Rainbow Alliance is an educational group dedicated to the support and acceptance of LGBTQQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual) individuals at St. Norbert College and in the local and larger communities.

UW-Eau Claire

UW-Eau Claire Spectrum Works to educate about LGBTQA people, as well as raise awareness of LGBTQA people at the UW-Eau Claire campus.  They strive to alleviate isolation and provide support to LGBTQA people as well as their straight allies.

UW-Green Bay

Sexuality and Gender Alliance-Fair Wisconsin provides a safe place for students to socialize and educate themselves about LGBT issues as well as their campus at large.

UW-La Crosse

UW-La Crosse Pride Center is devoted to serving students and members of the campus community that may or may not label themselves as queer, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, gay, intersex or questioning, asexual individuals their allies (LGBTIQQAA) and students with LGBTIQQAA parents.

UW-Madison

UW – Madison LGBT Campus Center provides support, social, educational, and research services to the campus community. Serving as an open meeting place for all queer students and organizations, the LGBTCC welcomes all who are in need of a place to relax or study.

UW – Madison Ten Percent Society (TPS) is an LGBTQA social organization that focuses on providing a safe space for LGBTQ students and allies.  We do dances, play board games, play laser tag, and other social events for anyone who’s interested.

QLaw is a student organization dedicated to serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community at the University of Wisconsin Law School.

UW Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Alumni Council (GLBTAC) provides a recognized forum that facilitates dialogue and relationships between the university and its gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender alumni and encourages and supports a positive social and academic environment throughout the university community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender faculty, staff, and students.

UW-Milwaukee

UWM LGBT Resource Center provides resources, a safe space and education for LGBT students and the Milwaukee community.

UW-Oshkosh

UW-Oshkosh LGBTQ Resource Center works to create awareness across campus by identifying and responding to concerns and needs of LGBTQ students, staff, faculty and allies.

UW-Parkside

UW-Parkside LGBT Resource Center provides resources and LGBT education at UW-Parkside.

Rainbow Alliance is the organization at UW-Parkside which advocates for the rights of people whose sexual orientations, sexual preferences, gender identities, or gender expressions do not easily conform to societal standards.

UW-Platteville

UW-Platteville Alliance provides both a forum for discussion of relevant political issues, social activities, support, and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and curious individuals and allies. We also work to promote understanding and acceptance in the UWP community, the city of Platteville, southwest Wisconsin, and beyond.

UW-Stevens Point

UW-Stevens Point GSA provides social, emotional, and education support group for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ally populations on campus and in the surrounding communities.

UW-Stout

Out @ Stout is UW-Stout’s student organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and ally students.

UW-Superior

Queer and Allied Student Union is a student organization providing support for students identifying as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transexual, transgendered, questioning individuals, friends, families and allies at UW-Superior.

UW-Whitewater

UW-Whitewater IMPACT is a student union of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Straight Ally (LGBTQA) students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
