Fair Wisconsin PAC 2012 Spring Endorsements

2012 spring election endorsements

Fair Wisconsin PAC is committed to advancing and achieving equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Wisconsinites through strategic electoral activity.

We endorse candidates running for office who advocate for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. To earn a Fair Wisconsin PAC endorsement a candidate must participate in our endorsement process and state that they will publicly accept our endorsement.

This spring, Fair Wisconsin PAC reached out to over 200 candidates for local office across Wisconsin to gauge support for fairness and evaluate individual candidates. We were pleased that there were several districts in addition to those listed below where we had multiple pro-fairness candidates to consider for endorsement. In some cases, the PAC Committee decided not to endorse one candidate over another, but does want to recognize these additional pro-fairness candidates for their support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. These candidates are not endorsed, but are noted in the list below.

If you don’t see your candidate on our endorsement list please do reach out to them and ask them if they participated in our endorsement process. If they did not participate, please tell them how important it is to you that they receive Fair Wisconsin PAC’s endorsement.

*NOTE ABOUT SCHOOL BOARD ENDORSEMENTS: Traditionally, Fair Wisconsin PAC has not made endorsements in local School Board races.  In this case, however, Mr. Mielke is a pro-fairness incumbent who is being challenged by a candidate endorsed by a local organization with extreme, public anti-fairness views.  The Fair Wisconsin PAC Committee decided that it was appropriate to make an endorsement in this race to show our support for an incumbent who has been a strong ally of the LGBT community.
